No account — an anonymous guest identity

The app does not ask for a name, school account, email address or phone number, and there is nothing to register. It generates a random installation identifier and exchanges it for a time-limited guest access token. On iOS, the identifier and access token are held in the device Keychain. The identifier is not an advertising or hardware identifier and does not identify a student on its own.

On iOS, Keychain data may remain after reinstalling the app. Clear all local data in Settings removes the app’s local guest credentials and drafts. This does not delete server-side billing or usage records. Use Restore purchases on Plans to restore eligible App Store subscriptions and previously owned non-consumable products; consumable writing credits remain bound to the guest identity that received them; Restore purchases does not transfer their balance to a new guest identity. Android purchases use the Google Play restore flow.

What stays on your device

Drafts, outlines, snapshots, version history and progress records are stored locally on the device by default. Deleted drafts go to a trash area recoverable for 30 days before they are removed.

Photo import uses on-device OCR. The photograph itself is not uploaded — only the text you choose to keep, and only when you then request feedback on it.

You can export your drafts as a JSON backup, and import that file on another device.

What is sent when you request feedback

Text is sent to the LearnSys service only when you explicitly ask for an outline, a sentence improvement or draft feedback. It is processed to produce that response and is not used to train models.

AI generation is performed by a third-party model provider acting as our subprocessor. Only the text needed for the request is passed on.

Please do not put personal information — names, school details, contact details, identity numbers — into a draft you send for feedback.

Purchases

On Android, subscriptions and credit packs are sold through Google Play. We never see your card details. Google returns a purchase token, which we store only as a SHA-256 hash bound to a single guest identity, alongside your entitlement state, credit balance and daily usage counters.

For Google Play purchases, if a purchase is cancelled or refunded, Google notifies us and the entitlement is withdrawn within 24 hours.

On iOS, subscriptions and writing credits are purchased through Apple’s App Store using StoreKit. Apple handles Apple Account authentication and payment; LearnSys does not receive your Apple Account password or payment card details from this purchase flow.

To activate a purchase or restore eligible purchases, the iOS app sends the App Store signed transaction to the LearnSys verification service. The transaction includes identifiers for the transaction, original transaction and product, subscription expiry/revocation information where applicable, and its App Store environment (such as Sandbox or Production). The server verifies the signed transaction for this app and records the transaction and original transaction identifiers, product identifier, entitlement state, applicable expiry and processing timestamps, bound to the app’s guest identity. It also maintains the credit balance and usage counters. Environment information is checked during verification.

Verified purchase and restore results determine the Pro status and credits displayed in the app. Transaction records prevent the same consumable purchase from granting credits more than once. Subscription status is reconciled from verified App Store transactions when a purchase is processed, purchases are restored, or the app returns to the foreground.

Reporting AI output

If you report an AI response as harmful or wrong, the app submits a report reason, an excerpt of that response (up to 400 characters), the writing tool, a report identifier and the report time. LearnSys stores these details with your guest identity so a reviewer can assess the report. Reports are kept for 90 days and then purged, and are readable only by staff handling the review.

No ads, no analytics

The app carries no advertising, no advertising identifiers and no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs. Nothing about your writing is sold or shared for marketing.

Children

The app is intended for secondary students preparing for public examinations. It collects no account details and asks for no personal information. A parent or guardian who wants a child's locally stored work removed can clear it from within the app, or uninstall it.

Retention and deletion

Local drafts remain until you remove them from the app or device. Uninstalling the app removes its local drafts, but iOS Keychain guest credentials may remain. Clearing local data or uninstalling does not delete LearnSys server-side transaction, entitlement or usage records used for billing, restoring eligible purchases and preventing duplicate credit grants. Content reports are kept for 90 days.

To request deletion of anything held on the LearnSys service, email [email protected] from the device you use, and we will tell you what we can identify from a guest identity alone.
