This Privacy Policy describes how LearnSys DSE Study Captain ("the app"), provided under the LearnSys brand by iGears Technology Limited, handles information.
This release is offline-first. There is no account, no advertising, no analytics SDK, no AI chat, no camera access and no network permission. We do not sell personal information.
What is stored on your device
The app stores the following locally, using Android DataStore and Room: your DSE cohort, electives and Mathematics modules; preferred language and available study time; selected focus topics; generated study plans; session completion logs, streak and progress; and the widget snapshot needed to draw your countdown and tasks.
This stays on the device until you clear the app's storage or uninstall it. Upgrading the app keeps the existing local database.
What we collect: nothing
The app does not transmit any of the above to LearnSys or to iGears. It holds no internet permission, so it cannot. Under the definitions used in Google Play's Data safety form, this release neither collects nor shares user data.
Google Play and Android itself may process install, update, crash or notification-delivery information under their own terms. That is the platform, not this app's code.
Captain Pro
Captain Pro is a one-time unlock sold through Google Play Billing, which runs through the Play Store app rather than through any server of ours. We never see your payment details, and no account is created.
The app records only whether the unlock is active, and that record is stored locally like everything else. Restoring a purchase on a new device is handled by Google Play.
Permissions
The app requests two permissions. Notifications, which is optional and powers only the daily study reminder. And "receive boot completed", which re-schedules that reminder after a restart or an app update.
The reminder uses an inexact Android alarm; the app does not request exact-alarm permission.
Data left over from earlier builds
A device upgrading from an early pre-release build may still hold rows from a retired Math Coach feature. The current version neither displays nor transmits them, and they are kept only so that an upgrade does not destructively drop data. Clearing the app's storage removes them.
Young users
The app supports secondary-school revision. It has no public communication, no user-generated content shared with anyone, no targeted advertising and no behavioural profiling.
Your choices, retention and deletion
The notification permission is optional and can be changed at any time in Android Settings. Because nothing is sent to us, there is no server-side copy to request the deletion of: clearing the app's storage or uninstalling it removes your data completely.
