『智』啟學教 Funding Scheme
The Quality Education Fund has allocated HK$2 billion to support primary and secondary schools across Hong Kong in using AI to improve teaching effectiveness. Each school can receive up to HK$500,000.
What is 『智』啟學教?
The Hong Kong Education Bureau launched the 『智』啟學教 funding scheme (AI for Empowering Learning and Teaching Funding Programme), funded by the Quality Education Fund, to support government, aided, DSS, and special schools in using AI to improve teaching effectiveness.
Programme requirements
Schools must complete all five implementation requirements:
Include it in the school development plan
Include AI-enhanced education in the school development plan.
AI teaching in 3+ subjects
Run AI teaching in at least 3 subjects, covering 2 or more levels per subject and producing 6 or more teaching examples.
3+ open / demonstration classes
Run at least 3 demonstration lessons that show AI-supported teaching.
3+ sharing sessions
Host at least 3 forums to share AI implementation experience.
2+ student activities
Organise at least 2 activities that build students’ AI capability.
